Art in Motion was founded by a husband-and-wife duo with a shared love for creativity and joy. Inspired by a local caricature artist, we set out to bring personalized, laughter-filled caricatures to life. With Erwin’s artistic talent and Mai’s behind-the-scenes expertise, Art in Motion is all about capturing the unique essence of each client.
As a pioneering live caricature provider in Dumaguete, we empower everyone to embrace their uniqueness—one sketch at a time. From events to gifts, we create memorable keepsakes that turn fleeting moments into cherished memories.

About Us
Both graduates of Computer Engineering from Asian College, Erwin served as Student Council President and Mai as Department President of CCSE during their final year. The brand color of Art in Motion pays homage to their time in CCSE. Originally from Tacloban, they moved to Dumaguete in 2013 after surviving Typhoon Yolanda, which shaped their resilience. Together since 2013, and married along the way, they’ve built a life filled with creativity, love, and unforgettable memories. When their daughter Malaya gets the chance to visit them during pop-up events, she brings an extra boost of joy to their busy days. Outside of work, they enjoy watching Pepito Manaloto and share their home with two playful dogs, Frenzy and Freya. Life’s been an incredible adventure, and they’re here to capture every special moment, one caricature at a time.
Erwin (Caricature Maestro)
Meet Erwin – the artist behind every caricature at Art in Motion. With a pencil in hand since childhood, he’s honed the rare ability to capture personalities with both humor and heart. His background in Computer Engineering brings a unique flair to his craft, blending technical precision with creative storytelling.
When he’s not at live events or sketching behind the scenes, Erwin works remotely as an illustrator for clients around the world—from e-commerce brands and children’s book authors to a local newspaper in LA.
Outside of work, you’ll often catch him jamming on his guitar while Mai sings along, performing for their most enthusiastic little fan—Malaya.
Mai (Head of Sales & Smiles)
Mai is the driving force behind the sales and marketing at Art in Motion, ensuring that every client’s experience is smooth, personalized, and memorable. With her expertise in managing behind-the-scenes operations, she’s the go-to person from your first inquiry all the way to the final artwork. Whether you're looking for a fun caricature for an event or a thoughtful gift, Mai is there to guide you every step of the way.
In addition to her work at Art in Motion, Mai is also a wedding consultant for a photography company in Australia, where she helps couples navigate the details of their big day with ease and care.
When she's not working, you can find her experimenting with new recipes or spending quality time with her daughter, Malaya—who brings her joy and energy during their event pop-ups.
